פעילות בנושא אלכוהול - כיתות י'
להלן השאלון עליו ענו התלמידים כפעילות Kahoot.

What do you know about drinking alcohol? (taken from the Israeli Police Force site)

1. Drinking a small glass of Vodka would get you drunker than drinking 2 bottles of beer.
     False
Fact: The alcohol concentration in a can of beer equals the concentration in a glass of wine or a small glass of hard liquor (Vodka, Sherry). There are beers which contain an increased percentage of alcohol (e.g., 9%). Then, the equation is different. Pay attention to the alcohol concentration written on the label.

2.  You cannot drive a car after drinking alcoholic beverage even if you wait for half an hour.
     True
Fact: A single amount of alcoholic beverage is digested every 45 minutes by the liver. Therefore, half an hour doesn't enable your body to digest the last drink you had, non the less the drinks you've had before.
"A single amount of alcoholic beverage" =  a can of beer / a glass of wine / a small glass of hard liquor.

3.  If you have a good meal while drinking, you'll not get drunk.             False
Fact: Food can only delay the effect of alcohol. There is no amount of food that can prevent the negative effect of alcoholic beverage. As mentioned it can only delay it to a later time, for example to the time you start driving.

4.  Coffee will not help you sober up quickly.         True.
Fact: Digestion of alcoholic beverage is the same with or without coffee. Coffee contains a stimulating factor which lowers the depressing effect of alcohol on the brain. It doesn't mean you'll get sober, you just get less sleepier.

5.  Alcohol gets to the brain after an hour. That's when it is absorbed into the blood system.
     False
Fact: Alcoholic beverage is a depressive substance and it gets to the brain 5 minutes after you drink it.

6. If Alcoholic beverage is mixed with soda or another soft drink, its effect is faster.
     True
Fact: Mixing alcoholic beverage with soft drinks only accelerates the time it is absorbed in the blood system.

7.  Alcohol will affect your judgment only after it after your motor function.                False.
Fact: Drinking will affect your judgment long before you feel a motor disability (e.g., can't see straight)

8.  Thin people get drunk faster than fat people.               True.
Fact: Thin people digest alcohol faster. A thin person will get drunk faster and alcohol will have a lasting effect on this person more that a fat person.

9.  Alcohol isn't a drug therefore cannot cause a physical and emotional addiction.      False.
Fact: Alcohol is a drug! In Israel there are more than 40,000 people who are addicted to alcoholic beverages. There are 16 centers that deal with alcohol addiction.
